GoodBookey’s mission is to raise funds and awareness for impactful non-profits by simulating peer to peer gambling on popular national and collegiate sports events.
GoodBookey makes providing donations to nonprofits a fun and social experience by allowing users to wager donation amounts on national and collegiate sporting events. The loser of the wager, donates the full pre-determined amount to the winner’s charity. During March Madness GoodBookey and its pilot users raised $3000 for our partner charities on the March Madness games alone.
How does it work?
The user simply selects an event, picks a charity, sets an amount, and challenges a friend. Features include favoriting charities and teams, friending, easy invite linking, and donation stats.
The app is free for users and the platform is free for charities. We have a stacked future feature list including in app chatting, more extensive stats and in-app social media sharing. GoodBookey was developed by Carimus, a for-profit company creating applications for social good.
“Fundraising is one of the key challenges of running a non-profit. GoodBookey provides us the opportunity to raise awareness and receive funds with virtually no overhead. We are excited about this application because it has the potential to help us make a big impact in funding our programs.” – Director of Hearts with Haiti
