Guess who’s newest corporate partner is theCHIVE?

GoodBookey is happy to shine light on our charity partner, Vs. Cancer!
Vs. Cancer empowers athletes, sports teams, and community members to help children with cancer by fundraising. During the fundraising process, the foundation works with each sports team to identify something specific they want to fund. This includes helping to add personnel, decorate inpatient rooms, or fund research grants. In addition to fundraising, the foundation links teams to hospitals so that athletes can spend quality time directly with the children undergoing treatment.
Goodbookey is happy to announce our newest charity partner: The Confetti Foundation!
The Confetti Foundation supplies party kits for children who have to spend their birthdays in the hospital. They allow children and parents to take their minds off of hospital stays and celebrate birthdays with ease. Each Birthday Box contains all the materials necessary to throw a birthday party in a hospital room: four cups, four plates, four napkins, four paper straws, four wooden forks, four wooden spoons, two decorative tissue pots, one pair of grippy socks, one bag of handmade birthday cards, a sticker sheet, coloring sheets, crayons, a book mark, a birthday door hanger, one crepe paper streamer roll, a mylar self inflate balloon, a book and a birthday banner!
Over the last year we have been working hard to combine two very different worlds: sports gambling and philanthropy. The idea being our efforts is to take the incredibly large industry of sports entertainment and provide a platform to redirect the social behavior of betting. As a result, we aim to raise money for impactful non-profits.
GoodBookey was 1 of 90 chosen applicants from a pool of 16,000 global applications
GoodBookey, a social impact startup based out of Raleigh, was awarded funding by Publicis, an international advertising and public relations agency. Their innovative spin on making donations to nonprofits a fun and social experience was selected from among thousands of applicants to receive funding. Additionally, as a part of the reward, GoodBookey is receiving strategic mentorship from Razorfish, one of the world’s largest interactive agencies.
GoodBookey partner Orange County Rape Crisis Center (OCRCC) is one of the longest standing charities supported by the app. Since 1974, OCRCC has been committed to stopping sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy. The Center provides a 24-hour help line, advocacy and accompaniment, support groups, workshops, and therapy referrals. OCRCC also offers educational programs for raising awareness about sexual violence. Additionally, it teaches prevention skills in its hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and surrounding communities in Orange County.
The common thinking is that there are a couple of reasons–the thrill of competition, risk and reward, and associated social interactions. People do play for money, and some of the ill-advised few even do this for financial gain.
GoodBookey partner Far Away Friends is a relatively young non-profit, but the organization has accomplished amazing things in just two years. Their mission to end educational poverty in rural communities by fostering global empathy was inspired by co-founder Collines Angwech’s own pursuit of education.
GoodBookey is thrilled to announce that it has been featured in Forbes. We were selected for this incredible honor after pitching at Verge NC‘s pitch night for start-ups.
